Harvinder Saraswat
Counselling Psychologist
I am Harvinder Saraswat, a Delhi-based, internationally certified, and RCI licensed Rehabilitation and Counselling Psychologist, De-Addiction Therapist, and mental health speaker. As the founder of Mindcare Psychological Services & Counselling Centre, I have had the privilege of helping over 3,000 individuals on their journeys to healing and growth. With more than 20 years of rich experience, I also offer online counselling sessions, ensuring that support is accessible no matter where you are.
My work spans a broad spectrum of issues, including counseling for children, adolescents, and adults facing challenges in marriage and relationships, depression, anxiety, psychosomatic issues, trauma and PTSD, interpersonal concerns, grief, and conflict management. I also specialize in helping people achieve balance in their work-life dynamics, develop assertiveness, manage substance use, and overcome a lack of motivation. Additionally, I take pride in guiding individuals toward building healthy lifestyle habits, overcoming emotional or binge eating, and establishing exercise and self-care routines that promote overall well-being.
A core aspect of my approach is to work closely with you to identify your goals, hopes, and expectations. I encourage my clients to hold themselves accountable through goal setting, action planning, and identifying the limiting beliefs and habits that may hinder progress. Together, we will chart a path toward the positive changes and achievements you seek.
My academic journey has been fulfilling, with qualifications that include an MSc in Child Development, an MA in Psychology, and Post Graduate Diplomas in Rehabilitation Psychology (PGDRP) and Guidance and Counselling (PGDGC) from MD Rohtak University & NCERT, Delhi respectively, where I was honored to be the topper of my batch in both the diplomas. I have also earned a Diploma in Community Mental Health for Psychologists from NIMHANS and completed a course in Basics of Addiction Management from VKN NIMHANS. My international training includes expertise in Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) from the Beck Institute, Pennsylvania, USA. I am also a Certified Transactional Analyst in Psychotherapy (CTA-P) and am currently pursuing my PhD.
As a passionate Counselling Psychologist, I am dedicated to nurturing the next generation of psychologists, both at my center and at NCERT. I also extend my reach through my YouTube channel, “Mind Care Psychological Services & Counselling Centre,” where I share insights and guidance on mental health topics. My commitment to the field is further reflected in my active memberships with the American Psychological Association, the Indian Academy of Family Therapists, and the Counsellor Council of India.
In addition to my clinical work, I am proud to serve as a master resource person for NCERT and CBSE, and I have had the honor of conducting numerous workshops in the field of Child and Adolescent Counseling. I am also part of the Prime Minister's eVidya and Manodarpan Initiatives, striving to make mental health resources more accessible across India.
Throughout my career, I have been humbled by the recognition I have received. In 2024, I was honored with the Nation’s Pride Award by the Gyan Uday Foundation for my contributions to counseling and mental health services. I also received the Feminine Empowerment Award 2024 from We Care Media Foundation, and the Best Mental Health, De-Addiction, and Counseling Services Award from the National Business Awards in June 2024. My efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic were recognized with the Women Transforming Nation award in 2022, and I was awarded the National Education Excellence Achievers Award by Navbharat Rashtriya Gyanpeeth the same year.
As a Panelist Child Psychologist in the Book Selection Committee of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, and a resource person for NCERT’s Diploma in Guidance & Counselling program, I continue to be deeply involved in the field. I have also had the privilege of being a Panelist at the National Conference on Empowering Teachers for Promoting Mental Health and Well-Being in Schools in December 2022 and have conducted numerous live interactive sessions under the ‘SAHYOG’ initiative, telecast on the PM eVidya Channel.
My journey in the field of psychology is driven by a deep passion for helping others and a commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of those I work with. I look forward to continuing this journey with you, as we work together to create the change you seek and the life you deserve.
