  • What should I expect in my first therapy session?
    Your first session is a chance for you and your therapist to get to know each other. You'll discuss what brought you to therapy, your history, and your goals. It's also a time for you to ask questions and see if the therapist is a good fit for you. It's a collaborative process, and there's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with.
  • How do I know if therapy is working?
    Signs that therapy is working can include feeling a sense of relief, developing new coping skills, seeing improvements in your relationships, and feeling more hopeful about the future. Progress isn't always linear, but over time, you should feel a positive shift in your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
  • Is everything I say confidential?
    Yes, confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy. Everything you discuss with your therapist is private, with a few legal and ethical exceptions related to harm to yourself or others. Your therapist will explain these limits to you in your first session.
  • How long does therapy take?
    The duration of therapy varies greatly depending on the individual and their goals.
